We’re pleased to notify you that Salt River Project (SRP) will be hosting an informational open house expo later this month for community members to learn about SRP’s Coal Communities Transition efforts, which includes the Coronado Generating Station (CGS) Repurposing Study. The event will be held at the St. Johns Middle School cafeteria, 555 W.7th St. S., St. Johns, AZ on October 25, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Please come anytime. This is an open house format, there is no formal presentation.
CGS is scheduled to be retired no later than 2032. SRP seeks to support impacted communities as they endeavor to develop sustainable and strategic local economies. As part of this effort, SRP has launched the CGS Repurposing Study. The study is examining technologies to determine which, if any, could offer viable alternatives to coal generation. This is the first step in the process of identifying options and planning for the future.
Registration for this event is encouraged and can be done either by scanning the QR code below; by visiting our website at: www.srp.net/coaltransition for a link to the sign-up page; or by calling 1-855-584-1484 to register by phone.
Kids are welcome – a “Fun Zone” and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you later this month.
