The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program is a federal initiative aimed at expanding high-speed internet access across the United States, particularly in underserved and unserved areas. The program will be administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and Arizona has been awarded approximately $993 million across the entire state.
The FCC's National Broadband Map was used in this effort to identify all eligible households in which the funding will be used to implement high-speed broadband access. Arizona Commerce Authority will host a challenge process for the purpose of identifying disputes with both Broadband Serviceable Locations and Community Anchor Institutions.
More information will be available once ACA begins to develop project areas throughout the state.
