Pima County

Project Information

Pima County Public Library (PCPL) is partnering with Pima County Information Technology Department (PCITD) on the Pima County Middle Mile Broadband Project to provide the infrastructure needed to bring equitable access to affordable and reliable high speed broadband internet to all residents in Pima County.  The proposed middle mile path provides a ring around the Tucson metro area and connects to the Tier 1 internet backbone as well as provides redundancy to the area.

6/16/23 **UPDATE** 

Pima County has been officially awarded $30.3 million in grant funding from the National Telecommunications Information Administration (NTIA) for the expansion of a high-speed internet infrastructure further reaching access to residents in unserved and underserved areas.
