Arizona Broadband Development Grant (ABDG) Program

Project Information

With funding from the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) and support from Salt River Project (SRP) and Tucson Electric Power (TEP), Apache County is working with Ethos Broadband to implement a fiber network which connects more than 3,000 homes and businesses in eight communities to high-speed internet. The eight communities will include Alpine, Concho, Eagar, Greer, Nutrioso, Springerville, St. Johns and Vernon. The project consists of fiber to the home (FTTH) utilizing the pre-existing middle mile fiber owned by Ethos Broadband. In addition, Apache County's goal is to create a Wide Area Network (WAN) that will connect all of the county facilities together, ultimately improving productivity and reliability.

The interactive map above showcases three different funding sources of broadband access coming to Southern Apache County.

Blue represents the Arizona Broadband Development Grant (ABDG) funded through the Arizona Commerce Authority. The awarded provider is Ethos/Commnet.
Purple represents the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) where the awarded providers will come in with high-speed broadband access. Currently, the providers for this project are Conexon Connect, Geo-links, and Resound Networks.
Red represents Project Area 1 for Southern Apache County of the recent allocation of $993 million from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment program (BEAD).
